The next generation of GapGun® handheld laser profile measurement system delivers enhanced usability, advanced software integration, and centralized measurement management for modern manufacturing environments.
Featuring redesigned hardware, the new INSIGHT™ software, and the intuitive ThirdOS™ operating system, the GapGun 6 is the most advanced and user-friendly handheld laser profiling system offered by Accurex.
The GapGun has become an essential measurement solution for aerospace, automotive, and advanced manufacturing organizations, providing fast, accurate, non-contact measurement of gaps, flushness, radii, angles, and other critical dimensional features. It serves as both an in-line process verification tool and a final quality inspection solution, helping manufacturers improve product quality while increasing production efficiency.
GapGun 6 introduces a range of significant hardware enhancements designed to improve operator productivity. A new 5-inch capacitive touchscreen provides a responsive, intuitive interface, enabling production personnel to easily navigate inspection plans, review measurement features, and visualize cross-sectional profiles directly on the device. Real-time measurement results are displayed instantly, with audible pass/fail notifications that provide immediate feedback during inspection.
The proven VChange® sensor exchange system, previously available on earlier GapGun models, has been improved on the GapGun 6, allowing operators to quickly change sensor heads with minimal downtime and greater flexibility across a wide range of measurement applications. GapGun 6 uses the powerful and proven T-series sensors, ensuring metrology consistency across current and next generation GapGun platforms.
Complementing the new hardware is GapGun INSIGHT™, a centralized software platform that enables organizations to manage every GapGun 6 deployed throughout a facility from a single interface. INSIGHT provides administrators with control over user permissions, inspection plan creation and deployment, as well as system configuration. In addition, the operational status and health of each device can be monitored, ensuring an efficient manufacturing operation.
The GapGun 6 is powered by ThirdOS™, Third Dimension’s new operating system designed specifically for high-volume manufacturing environments. ThirdOS delivers a fast, streamlined user experience that minimizes training requirements through intuitive on-screen graphics and guided workflows. ThirdOS provides enhanced IT security while supporting both wired and robust wireless connection to the INSIGHT software for efficient transfer of measurement results.
ThirdOS also provides seamless integration with GapGun INSIGHT and is compatible with the previous model of GapGun that uses SPC3d® software. This enables manufacturers to transition to the latest platform while protecting their existing measurement infrastructure.
